Replays clearly showed Ratcliff getting pushed out with 17 seconds left. Scelfo had no idea that the clock was running and went to the line and even audibled thinking there was time to do so. He got the play off but the time ran out and the Wave could not run any more plays. The referees quickly ran off the field after announcing the previous play had been ruled in bounds. Tulane had a timeout to use in that situation but were apparently not told about the ruling and did not have an opportunity to use their timeout to stop the clock. Tulane loses another heartbreaker.
0:00 Clock RUNS!!! Confusion everywhere as the line judge had signaled for the clock to stop but apparently ruled that Ratcliff stayed in bounds. The clock runs out and Scelfo is tackled after a 5 yard gain. Tulane players and coaches are irate

Replay confirms the ruling on the field of a touchdown and Memphis converts the extra point.
