Grades for Memphis Game

Offense: B- Once again, the Green Wave have failed to capitalize on yet another amazing game from Matt Forte, who ran for 278 yards. Yes, 27 points is decent. But considering how much Forte ran for, Tulane should ahve scored at last 30, probably more. The passing game at this point is just pathetic. I don't know if backup Kevin Moore is athletic enough to do thiss, but at this point Tulane might want to consider using a spread-option attack like West Virginia uses. This would allow Kevin Moore to run the ball and would probably be more productive than attemptin to pass the ball. It would also take the some of the load off of Matt Forte, who had 44 carries this week and at this point he could start wearing down.

Defense: D+ While the defense did not play horrible, once again the defense let the other team drive down the firled for a game winning/tying touchdown. That alone gives them a terrible game, for blowing yet another lead. Not to mention th 355 yards passing. Only reason this isn't a failing grade is because they forced 2 turnovers and managed to hold Memphis to 55 yards rushing.

Special Teams: F It doesnt matter what was done throughout the whole game, the fact is Thevenot missed a 22 yard field-goal taht would have iced the game for the Green Wave. Just completely unacceptable. Instead of finishing off the Tigers, Thevenot instead gave them life and they drove down the field for the game-winning touchdown. That field goal is three yards longer than a PAT. How on earth does a kicker miss that? Truly embarrassing.

*Kevin Moore is injured, so him playing right now is not a possibility
