SMU-Tulane Players of the Game

What a game in Dallas! Unfortunately we saw the Green Wave give up another game-tying drive in the final seconds. But the performance of Matt Forte coupled with the Green Wave's first conference win made for an amazing show. Here are this week's players of the game:

Offense: Matt Forte
Are you kidding me? Forte is now the leading rusher in college football after his 38-carry, 344 yard performance. Think about that -- all those Heisman hopefuls the networks like to hype up, like Ray Rice, Mike Hart, Darren McFadden -- Forte is ahead of them all. Give credit to the offensive line though. Kropog, Barto, even the freshman Nierman (this kid is amazing -- no wonder McKnight had so much room to run at John Curtis) were all outstanding. Jordan Stephany had an amazing game as well

Defense: S Joe Goosby

No player really stood out on defense, but Goosby had a solid all-around game, with a sack and another tackle for a loss. He also finished the game with five total tackles.

Special Teams: Ross Thevenot

Thevenot has been off and on after an outstanding freshman year, but with DeRoachmont handling punting duties this week, Thevenot shined, hitting both his field goal attempts and kicking the ball deep on kickoffs.
