Tulane vs. Memphis 1st Quarter

That's the end of the first quarter and the Wave lead 3-0.

0:02 Hankins on the play action pass goes deep throwing into triple coverage. The pass is broken up but Memphis picks up a first down on the holding penalty by the Wave secondary.

0:43 The Wave bring the blitz but Memphis runs the screen pass out to the right and picks up a first down into Wave territory. A 21 yard pass and catch

2:10 A short kickoff from Thevenot is returned out to the 29 yard line by the Tigers. They'll have their second crack on offense as the Green Wave came up with a big stop on the Tigers last possesion.

2:22 Moore is flushed out and scrambles for a one yard loss on third down. Ross Thevenot on to attempt a 48 yard field goal. The kick is up and good. The field goal is a career long for Thevenot.

5:12 Kevin Moore in at quarterback. The handoff goes to Forte and he picks up a first down to the Tigers 31. That's an 11 yard gain for Forte

5:20 Memphis plays a 3rd and 5 from the Wave 25. The pass is complete to Duke Calhoun very close to the first down. It will be fourth down and the Tigers will go for it. The Tulane defense rises to the occasion and stops the run play in the backfield for a one yard loss.

From the replays it looks like Forte was down before the ball came loose. Tulane burned another timeout to give the replay booth more time to look at it but to no avail.

Tulane plays host to its first home game in a month, hosting the 3-4 Memphis Tigers at the Superdome. The scene is vastly different from the Wave's last home game, a full stadium against the LSU Tigers.
