Tulane-SMU Preview

For those that haven't heard, tonight's game will be on FOx Sports Southwest, so check your cable provider to see which channel that is -- it should be on basic cable. Kickoff is at around 7:00 p.m.

As for the game itself, the Dallas paper reports that both teams are desperate for a win. I have to disagree with their assessment that Tulane will win the game if Forte runs the ball effectively -- this game will be decided by Tulane's passing game, particularly the wide receivers.

The Times Pic says the key to the game is stopping SMU quarterback Justin Willis, who torched the Green Wave for 267 yards passing, 75 yards running, and two touchdowns.

I expect Tulane will come away with its first win. Looking at the poll, I see (so far) people agree with Bob Toledo's immediate benching of guys that don't perform. That'll go a long way in straightening out the losing mentality of this program in my opinion, although we'll have to see if it translates to more wins.

Predictions: Tulane 23, SMU 20
