Recap vs. ECU

"Coming into this game, we thought East Carolina was playing great basketball and they did some things that we thought would give us some problems. They are a good offensive transition team and a very good rebounding team. We worked on those two things the last day and a half and it paid off for us,” head coach Dave Dickerson said after the ECU game.

ECU proved to be no problem for Tulane as it defeated the Pirates 72-56. The Green Wave is now 14-6 on the season and 4-2 in C-USA. ECU falls to 7-11 with only one victory against a C-USA opponent.

Tulane begin the game with an early run, but ECU responded with a 14-4 run of their own and took a 20-15 lead. However with the help of David Gomez, Robinson Louisme and Kevin Sims, who each scored seven points in the first half, Tulane was able to lead going into the locker-room for the half 30-23.

The Wave started off the second half with another huge run. ECU was able to get within four but that was the closest the Pirates could get all second half. Tulane had a 19 point lead three times in the final five minutes of the game.

Stat of the Game: Three, the number of C-USA opponents that Tulane has managed to hold under 60 points.

Player of the Game: Senior David Gomez was 8-13 in scoring against ECU. The game against the Pirates was Gomez’s eight straight game in which he scored in double figures. Louisme and Simes also scored in double digits.
