Recap: Tulane 67, Tulsa 65

After consecutive disheartening defeats to the hands of UAB and UTEP respectively, the Green Wave got back on track Wednesday topping Tulsa 67-65 in an overtime thriller. Senior David Gomez paced the Wave with 16 points with sophomore Kevin Sims adding 14. Tulane erased an 8 point deficit with 8 minutes left in regulation to force overtime. In the extra period, the Wave managed to hold off a late Tulsa run with clutch foul shooting. Tulane improved to 11-6 with the win.

Quote of the Game- Head Coach Dave Dickerson
This was a really good win for our guys and for our program. The one thing we talked about was winning on the road in this conference and what we had to do as a program. Everyone was patting us on the back for our non-conference performance and our RPI. But what we had to do was get Conference USA tough. Our backs were against the walls and we circled the wagons. Our guys worked hard and we knew if we rebounded the basketball we would have a chance to win this game. My hats off to all of our guys and coaches for getting a road win against a team that doesn't lose at home. It was a very commendable effort for our players and coaches.

Coming Up
Tulane will match up against conference foe Rice at Fogelman arena Saturday, January 19th.
