Men's Basketball vs. Southern Miss 2nd Half

The Wave fall once again, 70-59. That's the fifth straight defeat after the day started with such great promise. It'll be a very disappointed locker room but the Wave still have an opportunity to salvage the season.

Southern Miss opens up in man-to-man for the first time this game it seems.

Sims leads all scorers with 15 points on 5-5 shooting, 3-3 from beyond the arc.

The Wave shot a blistering 57% from the field in the first half but still only have a 1 point cushion mainly due to 8 turnovers. If the Wave take care of the basketball in the second half, they should pull out the win.

This team simply stopped doing all the things that made it successful early in the season, like free-throw shooting and rebounding. The UAB and UTEP losses may have been disheartening, but they still have plenty to play for, like seeding in the Conference USA tournament or even a 20-win season.

Just gotta move on. Good to see Richard emerging.

The early season start definitely had me thinking NCAA tourney. It was pretty easy to see the disappointment after the loss. Fortunately, we know that the Wave can play with all the teams aside from Memphis. It will take a miracle but we just have to get hot for 4 days in March.

What happened to Wheaton/Puckett/Stith? Those guys were playing so well earlier in the year. It's not a lost cause, but it would definitely be depressing if this team ends up a .500 club after the way it started the season.
